About the Mauritshuis
The Mauritshuis is housed in a 17th-century mansion in The Hague and bears witness to Dutch history. The permanent collection, the Royal Cabinet of Paintings, consists of 854 works by Dutch and Flemish masters from the 17th century.
Among the most prized works is one of the world’s most instantly recognizable and reproduced paintings: the timeless ‘Girl with a Pearl Earring’ by Johannes Vermeer. The immense collection also includes works by Rembrandt, Van Dyke, Rubens, Brueghel, Holbein, Hals, and Steen.
